According to the Wall Street Journal, “Mortgage Rates Hover Near Lows.” For the week ending Thursday, June 28, 2012, the 30-year fixed rate mortgage averaged 3.66%, which was unchanged from the previous week and down from 4.51% a year earlier. Rates on 15-year fixed rate mortgages average 2.94%, versus 2.95% a week earlier and 3.69% a year earlier.
